About

I was young the first time I visited the Forgottonia region of Illinois. I can't remember exactly, but it had to be the early 80's. Every June my family would take a 3 hour road trip to Galesburg for Railroad Days. Being a train geek I looked forward to the trip every year! Beyond the trains I liked the feeling of being away from the Western Suburbs of Chicago. We always stayed at Jumer's and that place was like a resort back then. Later my parents found out about the Knox and Spoon River Scenic Drives. Then we were going to Galesburg twice a year and I enjoyed every trip.

When it was time for college, I applied to several schools with photography programs. Western Illinois University was at the top of my list, so it was 4 years of living in Forgottonia.
